The Water Smart Foundation installed fountains and gave out 4000 reusable wheat straw bottles to the event attendees. The response was phenomenal with exhibitors and guests alike refilling their bottles again and again to significantly reduce the volume of plastic bottles consumed and thrown away on site.
INITIATIVES
NIPEGIGI ROUND BRITAIN
Joining forces with Water Smart Foundation ambassadors and marine scientist Will Hodshon and Rich Mitchell, the Water Smart Foundation raised £10 000 for Surfers Against Sewerage and RNLI as they smashed a world record sailing non-stop & unassisted round Britain in an open sailing dinghy in 15 days + 4 hours.
ONE LESS CAMPAIGN
In 2017 WET Global were approached to design and manufacture a unique drinking fountain for Selfridges who were the first department store to eradicate single use plastic bottles from their food court. The fountain was installed as part of the One Less campaign.
The bespoke design-led fountain was installed into the Food hall of Selfridges Oxford Street on behalf of the Water Smart Foundation and offered customers free unlimited water to anyone who pitched a reusable bottle. The campaign raised funds for Project Ocean and charities such as the Blue Marine foundation, Marine Conservation Society, Greenpeace and The PEW Charitable Trusts.
ZSL – LET’S WORK FOR WILDLIFE
WET Global on behalf of the Water Smart Foundation supported the design, manufacture and installation of unique drinking fountains in Regents Park Zoo that would be suitable for Adults and Children/Disabled customers. Free, pure drinking water was dispensed for the public who came with a vessel, and the ZSL store sold bottles to support their charity ‘work for wildlife’.
